The adventures of Fan..

Dear friends,

It has been so much fun seeing other people's work!

So anyway here is my work.

It was inspired by ether the A&E Pride and Prejudice  (2001) or the Pride and Prejudice with Keria Knightley (2005) .   This costume is based on the Regency time period.  I was happy to find it a year or so ago on the Sensibility.com website and have made several costumes with it over the past year or so. I'm not quite certain what kind of fabric it was made out of (I didn't pay much heed to that..) but it is a light fabric perfect for the summer.

I actually sewed this entirely by hand.  It was a fun and relaxing way to work and I found that it helped me to do a better job in the end.

 So without further ado...

The adventures of Fan Comrad. (I thought I would use a different name for this post.:)

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

.... Fan decides to go on a walk to enjoy the cool evening time air.

                         ~Enjoying a quiet read...~

Finely deciding that it is best to be conformable and not elegant she throws off her hat and tosses the parasol aside.  One does not always need to be elegant ... right?

Opps... Fan was caught in the act by one of her brothers.

~ Dropping a very deep bow to the man of the house... ~
(actually I was binding over when my brother took this picture.)

~Picking flowers... ~

~ Fan is all tired out...~

Thank you so much to Atlanta for hosting this... What fun!!

Have a lovely cheerful day...

What a darling dress! The scenery where you took the pictures is so idyllic too!

I actually have some random questions about your blog. May I ask where you sourced the image for your header (does it have a name?). I'm doing research on the Greco-Roman influence on fashion, and would love to write about that image.

If you know the names of any of the lovely images down your sidebar, I would love to know them too - they really add to the atmosphere of the blog, and it would be wonderful to know the artists and dates!

Dear friend,

Thank you for the lovely comment that you left..

You asked about the picture that I have for my header and I have to say that I am not sure where I got it from. I also do not know the name.

But I can say that it was in the public domain when I got it. That being the case feel free to use it if you would like to! :)

By the way let me know when you finish the fashion post. I would love to see it. (I love that kind of thing.)

As to the other pictures on my side bars I do not know any of the names for them. (I'm sorry)

If you would like to know of some of the sites that I get the free public domain pictures from just let me know.

Have a *lovely* day,

Hannah Elizabeth..

~By the way you have a lovely blog. :) I love the fashion posts that you have been writing.

Dear Chip,

Thank you so much for your comment.

The fabric is nice and light so that being the case I think that I will be making a Regency coat to go over it this winter.:)

Hope you have a lovely day,

Hannah Elizabeth..

Dear Hannah,

That dress is so pretty! Wow, you made it all by hand ~ that's really neat! I've never really sewn a dress by hand. It turned out beautiful! I enjoyed all the pictures that you posted. Who tooke them?

Well, I hope that you have a lovely day. I have a letter I'm putting in the mail for you today =)

Dear Amy,

Thank you for your sweet comment! :)

I'm glad that you enjoyed the pictures. They were taken by my little brother Joshua. He did a wonderful job.

How has homework been going for you?

I have been working on a herbal coarse and another book on making healthy food. :) They have both been very interesting and I can't wait to use the information.

I can't wait to get your letter. :)

Love your scribbling friend,

Hannah Elizabeth..

Dear Hannah,
Joshua did a good job on the pictures!

Homework has been going pretty well...I finished my math book today, which I'm happy about =) It wasn't a very hard course, just took some time, so it's nice to have that finished up. And I also finished American Government about a week ago. But I still have plenty of other classes left to work on, and then test studying.

That's neat that you're doing an herb course, and learning about healty eating! In the future, I hope to learn about that, as well!

Love,
Amy

The dress turned out so good, Hannah! Wow, that must have taken a long time to sew it by hand. All the pictures turned out very good.

Have a *wonderful* day!
